THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE
Come, sit with me, close your eyes, hold my hand, let's go far away from this place to the place in which you came from.
Don't Be Controlled by What you can't Control
It's not meant to be controlled, this is why you can't control it. It was always beyond your control, even if you didn't realize it.
I haven't spoken to you all in quite some time, with the abrupt extreme changes that the world has faced over the last 2 months, it has drastically shifted every thing in my world. Not only did the unexpected happen with the world being quarantined, but my family has faced some unexpected changes and challenges with it. I haven't felt quarantined at all, and I have been faced with more responsibilities than I had before the shutdown.
Even though this has happened, it hasn't moved my faith to uncertainty, lack, and fear, it has made my faith stronger and wiser. I have experienced a massive shift inside about how I feel about life, my life, and where it is headed. I accept letting go of things and people at this point that no longer serve my highest good. I don't mind releasing anyone who pushes fear because they are filled with fear. You can always tell what someone is afraid of because they try to get you to fear it too.
You have to be spiritually strong from those that try to project their feelings and fears onto you. People will sit in fear for years over things that they have no control over. One of my favorite affirmations is, "God is in control." Those 4 words soothe all fears for me, because I know that everything that happens in or around me is through a great Divine plan. I know that everything that I experience is for my highest good.
Even if the experience is unpleasant and uncomfortable, I realize that it is stretching me to grow, to move beyond the bounds of which I have been standing comfortable. I can do, I can plan, I can be conscious, but I understand that God is in control.
We have been known for wanting to control everything, We make plans and then when things don't go as planned, we get upset and disappointed. We hold onto things that we have no control of, we worry about things that we can't change or control bringing on anxiety, frustrations, and depression. We keep things in our mind that have no business being there because there is nothing that we can do about it.
We hold on until this thing absolutely rips our lives apart, ripping us apart, and subsequently coming to realization that we had no control over what we were trying to control.
We can only control our inner environment, what happens, when it happens, is all beyond the scope of our control. There is a word that I was always told as a child, "Let Go and Let God. I have literally brought about grave sickness in my life through worrying about what I had no control over. I just kept worrying and stressing until my body said no more. My body said, "no longer can I take any more of these thoughts, these feelings, my heart said, "this is too heavy for me to carry," and I have to let you know. My body was screaming for help, for love, for comfort.
Holding onto things trying to manipulate them to my fashion instead of letting them fly free has cost me my peace before, but I learned.
In dealing with my problems the most unhealthiest ways, in secret, in guilt, I learned how to deal with them the healthy way. I learned how to regulate my emotions instead of being swallowed by them. I learned that gratitude is a life saver. Gratitude cancels out worry, it's too strong for worry to wrestle with. When we can say that we are grateful for every single thing that has happened and that is happening in our lives, we have truly arrived. We have figured it out. We have come to understand that there is something greater working in our behalf.
We can't control what someone says about us, how they feel about us, what they think of us. What someone else feels about us shouldn't take up any space in our mind. Not only is it beyond our control, but more than that, it doesn't matter. It only matters how we feel about ourselves because we can only feel what we feel inside. We know what we go through and what we've been through. We can't feel other people's feelings. We may be able to get a glimpse of what someone else is feeling, but we don't fully feel what they are feeling, it doesn't matter how empathetic we are.
Whatever we put our focus on has the ability to control our lives, in fact it does control our lives. Being that the mind can only focus on one thing at a time, then whatever we place our focus on will be the thing that leads and rules our lives. I work to maintain a high level of awareness of who and what I let into my life and to stay in my life. If a person lives in fear, I will more than likely keep far away from them as possible. Fear can be contagious, it easily seeps into our subconscious mind, ready to play out. And once I see that a person projects, promotes, and wallows in fear, I move around. But in moving around, I look inside to see what I am vibrating to bring this type of energy before me.
I monitor what I let my eyes see and what I allow my ears to hear. I know that if we continue to focus on something, giving our attention to it, it will grow and become dominant in our subconscious mind. I aim to be aware of my presence in mind more than I aim to control it. Because what is in our conscious mind at any given time is a message. It is something that has come to surface so that we can heal it, and move beyond it.
God is in control.
If I could ask for anything it would be for more awareness, not control.
